On the topic of corporate sustainability management

Businesses depend on, impact, and are exposed to risk around nature. But most businesses have limited experience with biodiversity and nature-based solutions. Our work considers how businesses can measure their relationship to nature, how to manage this relationship, and what innovative solutions exist, including along the supply chain, that help to regenerate nature.

Businesses are facing intense pressure to measure, disclose, report, and monitor their sustainability, and develop strategic pathways for a net zero and regenerative future. Our work evaluates the role of corporate governance in accelerating sustainability in business, with a particular emphasis on governance of climate change and biodiversity.

Top leaders are the key driver for sustainability transformation in business. Through understanding the socio-psychological underpinnings of leaders’ sustainability actions, among CEOs, top management teams, and board directors, our work seeks to identify levers for transformative actions such as circular and regenerative business models. This work also extends to understanding transformative education at business schools.
